Tensions between President William Ruto’s administration and outspoken lawyer Morara Kebaso have escalated dramatically after both sides made conflicting statements live on national television.
Kebaso, known for his sharp criticism of government projects, sparked controversy during the live broadcast by claiming that President Ruto had personally offered him a government position in exchange for halting his exposure of alleged ghost projects and corruption within the administration.
“I received calls from those close to the President, and eventually, the President himself reached out to me,” Kebaso asserted. “I declined the offer because I believe the government already has enough people, and I wouldn’t want to be associated with the corruption that seems prevalent there.”

This explosive allegation quickly caught the attention of State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, who called into the show to firmly deny the claim.
“It’s astonishing that Kebaso would fabricate such a story on national television,” Mohamed stated. “No such call ever took place. This is purely a figment of his imagination.”
While dismissing Kebaso’s accusations as fiction, Mohamed took the opportunity to commend the importance of accountability in governance. He acknowledged Kebaso’s role in holding the government to account but stressed the necessity of accuracy and honesty in such efforts.
Unfazed by Mohamed’s rebuttal, Kebaso stood by his claims. He questioned the spokesperson’s understanding of the President’s private communications, hinting that Mohamed might not be fully aware of all interactions involving the Head of State.
The clash between Kebaso and the State House has now become a significant point of discussion in the broader debate over government transparency and the integrity of public officials.
