In a case that has sparked outrage and condemnation across Kenya, justice has finally been served as the Nigerian man caught on CCTV assaulting a Kenyan woman confined to a wheelchair has been deported. The incident, which occurred in a private setting, captured the attention of the nation when footage of the brutal attack went viral on April 29th.

The assailant, identified as Nwankwo Noko, was captured on surveillance cameras mercilessly beating Ms. Pauline, who was defenseless due to her physical condition. The disturbing footage depicted Noko repeatedly striking Pauline while two other witnesses attempted to intervene and stop the violence.

The gravity of the situation prompted Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba to take action. Meeting with the victim on May 1st, Senator Orwoba ensured that the matter was reported to the authorities at Karen Police Station. Ms. Pauline’s ordeal was further compounded by the revelation that she and her domestic workers had been threatened by Noko, should they dare to testify against him in court.

Despite initial delays and attempts to impede the progress of the case, Senator Orwoba’s relentless pursuit of justice prevailed. The swift collaboration between the Ministry of Gender, led by CS Aisha Jumwa, and the Ministry of Interior, spearheaded by Prof. Kithure Kindiki, ensured that the perpetrator was swiftly apprehended and processed for deportation.

Senator Orwoba’s unwavering advocacy for the rights of the vulnerable resonated deeply with Kenyans, who commended her and the involved authorities for their decisive action. The deportation of Nwankwo Noko serves as a powerful reminder that violence against women, especially those with disabilities, will not be tolerated in Kenya.

As the nation celebrates this victory for justice, Senator Orwoba reiterated her commitment to safeguarding Ms. Pauline and her children from any further harm or intimidation. The swift and decisive response to this heinous act sends a clear message that perpetrators of violence will be held accountable for their actions.

In a statement of solidarity, Kenya Kwanza Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi lauded the efforts of Senator Orwoba and the Ministry of Gender, affirming that justice has been served for Ms. Pauline and all victims of violence.

The deportation of Nwankwo Noko marks a significant step forward in the fight against gender-based violence in Kenya. It serves as a testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering commitment of individuals and institutions to uphold justice and protect the rights of all citizens.
