A married Premier League footballer allegedly broke strict coronavirus rules to take part in a drug-fuelled gay sex orgy.

According to reports, the footballer – who cannot be named – took cocaine while participating in X-rated activity in Chesire.

The affair was purportedly filmed and footage leaked on Snapchat.

The case is allegedly the latest involving a footballer breaking coronavirus protocol at a time where cases in the UK are at an all-time high.

The Premier League tested 1,479 players and club staff between December 21 and 27, and a huge 18 individuals tested positive.

It is not suggested that any of those testing positive also breached Covid-19 rules.

This number eclipsed the previous highest number of cases, 16, which was recorded during the week of November 9-15.

Two Premier League fixtures were postponed as a result, although, again, there is no suggestion that any of those who tested positive breached coronavirus rules.

Everton vs Manchester City was the first match to be called off before Tottenham vs Fulham was also postponed this week.

A Premier League statement read: “The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 21 December and Sunday 27 December, 1,479 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19. Of these, there were 18 new positive tests.

“Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

“The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public after each round of testing.”
