Makerere Murder: NUP team started fight- Police say

The regional Police at Kampala Metropolitan North are exploring the conditions under which Batungura Bewotti 27, an understudy of regulation at Uganda Christian University Kampala Campus and occupant of Kikoni Zone B, Makerere 3 Parish Kawempe Division in Kampala was murdered.

The occurrence occurred yesterday fourteenth/7/22 at around 1900/c, during the last organization Presidential open missions at rugby grounds Makerere University.

It is affirmed that during the missions a fight followed between two Political faction allies that brought about the wounding of the departed by understudies who were supposedly driven by Hon. Kabuye Frank among others.

The Police were educated and after arriving at the scene we viewed blood stains accepted as for the departed inside Nsibirwa Hall where he concealed there after the fight that prompted his stabbing.

We have captured three individuals whom we accept were important for the mayhem. These are; Hon. Kabuye Frank who is confined at CPS Kampala, Ssekidde Allan presently kept at Wandegeya police headquarters and Kabuurwa Muzafaru who is kept at old Kampala police station.

Efforts are in progress to have different suspects followed. In the mean time, it is likewise asserted that the battle was between the NUP and FDC Political groups. The NUP group drove by Kabuye Frank turned vicious after a conflict, prompting the stabbing.

The body of the departed was passed on to city morgue Mulago for Postmortem from Makerere emergency clinic where he surrendered to the wound.

We have cordoned off the area, proclamations are as yet being recorded and CCTV recordings will be recovered to support the continuous examinations. More subtleties will be profited when they are available.
