Tusker rallied from a goal down to beat hosts Zoo 2-1 yesterday and leapfrog KCB at the top of the FKF Premier League table as Vihiga United pulled off a remarkable upset by beating record champions 1-0 at Kasarani Stadium.

The victory saw the 11-time Kenyan champions take their points tally to 20, two more than KCB who take on Western Stima in Nakuru today.

Teenage sensation Henry Meja was once again the hero scoring a late winner for the in-form Robert Matano’s side.

Dennis Simiyu’s 86th minute goal is all the Sammy Okoth’s men needed to inflict the defeat on K’Ogalo’s Portuguese coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto.

Simiyu capitalised on Gor’s defensive error to score from close range and help his side bag their second win of the season.

It was a similar result in Wundanyi as Sofapaka bounced back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win over Nairobi City Stars.

Ambrose Sifuna came off the bench to score a 71st minute goal for Batoto Ba Mungu to go level on ten points with seventh placed City Stars.

Despite the win, Sofapaka coach Ken Odhiambo admitted that his strikers still have a lot of work to do.

“We created several chances but we could not utilise them. We could have won the game with a bigger margin if we were clinical. All the same, that is an important win for us,” said Odhiambo.

Nairobi City Stars coach Sanjin Alagic blamed the poor state of the stadium and his wasteful strikers for defeat.

“Apart from being wasteful, we lost because the stadium is in a deplorable condition,” said Alagic.
