Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United is “over” according to his agent Mino Raiola.

The Frenchman has been linked with an Old Trafford exit for 18 months now.

He admitted he was keen on seeking a new challenge in the summer of 2019 and has continued to discuss a move away since then.

Raiola has not been shy in stoking that fire but has thrown petrol on the flames with his most recent comment.

“I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United,” the Italian told Tuttosport.

That appears to be pretty damning.

Pogba’s United contract is up at the end of next season after the club activated an option in his deal which extends his stay by a further 12 months.

But several figures have advised the Red Devils to cut ties with Pogba and Raiola.

That possibility appears to be ever growing and we take a look at five clubs the 27-year-old could join.

Real Madrid

The Spanish giants have been the club most regularly linked with Pogba’s signature in recent times.

For starters they have the money to pull off such a transfer.

Secondly, president Florentino Perez loves a big name and Pogba is exactly that. Someone to get the fans excited and further the club off the pitch as well as on it.

Couple that with the fact Zinedine Zidane, a hero for Pogba’s generation, is in charge at the Bernabeu – for now at least.

The two were, coincidentally, spotted together in Dubai last October, but the pair played down the sighting.

Pogba as recently as the October international break talked up a move to Madrid in the future insisting “all football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?”

Juventus

The club where Pogba made his name.

A return to the Italian champions seems logical and is crucially a club where Raiola already has players.

Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt plays his football in Turin after the super agent secured his move from Ajax.

It is also an environment where Pogba is comfortable, a sense you’ve never truly got with Manchester.

Questions may be asked about the changes that have occurred since the Frenchman’s departure.

Pogba played in a very settled and disciplined team led by Massimiliano Allegri.

It allowed the midfielder the freedom to express himself but Juventus, despite their continued winning, are in something of a transition.

Whether that would suit Pogba remains to be seen, but they are one of the frontrunners.

PSG

The Parisians are another of the clubs who could afford Pogba’s transfer fee which makes them contenders.

United are going to look to recoup the entirety of the club record £89m it cost them to sign the Frenchman back in 2016.

PSG would have no problems in tabling that sort of money, but it comes down to whether he would suit them on the pitch.

Off it there is no question, the French champions have become a global brand since the Qataris began pumping money into the club back in 2011.

Having another major France international in their ranks would further their appeal and also increase their sky high popularity domestically.

The likes of Angel di Maria and Ander Herrera have both swapped Manchester for Paris in recent times and will no doubt be banging the drum for a Ligue 1 switch.

Man City

This really would rub United up the wrong way, but if they choose to sell it is a possibility that exists.

Could we have Carlos Tevez mark 2 on our hands, just without the “welcome to Manchester” banner saga.

Pogba doesn’t, on the face of it, appear to be the sort of player that Pep Guardiola would pursue.

The Frenchman’s flaws have long been highlighted and it would require several months of work to get him up to scratch for the demands of the City boss.

But let’s not forget Guardiola let it slip in the lead up to the Manchester derby in 2018 that Raiola had offered him Pogba.

The Italian agent lashed out at the Catalan before Guardiola revealed he had the chance to sign the United man.

He said: “But being a guy who two months ago offered me Mkhitaryan and Pogba to play with us. Why?

“Why he offer? He was interested in Mhikitaryan and Pogba to play with us? So he has to protect his players and has to know he cannot bring the players to a guy like me, like a dog.

Inter Milan

An unlikely move but certainly not one that is out of the question.

Inter are desperate to overhaul Juventus and end their dominance of Serie A and thus have shown a willingness to spend.

The capture of Romelu Lukaku last summer for a club record fee was followed by the signings of Achraf Hakimi and Nicolo Barella for big money.

Pogba though would be a different kettle of fish.

Nevertheless, it would allow him to team up with the Belgian striker as well as former team-mates Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young.

Inter and United have done plenty of business recently so clearly a relationship exists between the two clubs.

Players and has to know he cannot bring the players to a guy like me, like a dog.

Raiola also has plenty of his players in Italy with big names at Roma, Milan and Napoli.
