FC Talanta opened a four-point gap between them and the chasing pack after edging out Muranga Seals 2-0 in the National Super League matches played over the weekend.

The victory saw Talanta stretch their lead to top the standings to 47 points with their 14th win of the campaign and with a game in hand.

Talanta are now in the driving seat in the race to earn the two automatic tickets for promotion to the FKF Premier League next season. If they win their game in hand, Talanta will open a six-point gap between them and their rivals.

Kenya Police on the other side dropped two important points after being held to a 1-1 draw by a resilient Nairobi Stima side.

Despite the draw, the Police remained second in the standings with 44 points having played a game more than leaders Talanta.

Fortune Sacco revived their promotion hopes after edging out APS Bomet 1-0. The win saw them move to joint fourth with Shabana with 41 points, two points below the promotion playoff spot currently occupied by Kibera Black Stars.

Shabana failed to capitalize on the Police slip after losing 1-0 to MCF who moved sixth with 38 points and in the race for promotion.

Modern Coast Rangers moved four points above the relegation zone after thrashing Silibwet 4-0.

Talanta, Kenya Police and Kibera Black Stars remain on course to earn premier league promotion after occupying the top three qualifying spots.
