Kenyans witnessed a dramatic scene yesterday when businessman and politician Jimi Wanjigi arrived at the Nairobi Area Regional Police Headquarters. The Safina Party leader was there for questioning over allegations of funding the Gen Z-led anti-government protests.

The tension began when police officers instructed Wanjigi to enter his car, while journalists eagerly waited to interview him. Wanjigi, clearly irritated by the officers’ demands, responded sharply.

“Do not order me and do not touch me. Have respect,” Wanjigi told one of the officers.

Despite the officer’s continued insistence, Wanjigi stood firm, challenging the officer by asking, “What if I don’t enter?” The officer eventually resorted to pleading with Wanjigi before he finally agreed to get into the vehicle.

The confrontation highlighted Wanjigi’s defiance, as he had earlier admitted to funding the Gen Z protests that aimed to destabilize President William Ruto’s government. The incident has sparked widespread discussion, with many Kenyans reacting to the bold exchange.
